LIMA is the acronym for the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibiton, a biennial event which brings together companies and organisations from all over the globe specialising in the maritime and aerospace sector.
LIMA is considered an important trade event in the Asia Pacific region. This past LIMA (LIMA 2009) involved over 325 participants from 25 countries including the United States, Russia, the United Kingdom, France and Spain, with over 71,000 visitors attending the show.
The exhibiton is open to the public on its last day (this year being the 10th of December). Various displays including airshows and waterborne exercises are conducted. Besides that, visitors also have the chance to enjoy the static exhibits provided, and even see the interior of some them.
LIMA 2011 promises to offer more spectacular performances and exhibits as well as give a boost to the regional economy. Whether considering trade opportunities or just hardware-oriented leisure and fun, LIMA is an event not to be missed.
